The oil comprises a base oil, an extreme pressure agent comprising primarily Bis (.beta.-chlorophenethyl) disulfide and a copper corrosion inhibitor comprising an alkyl derivative of 2,5- di-mercapto 1, 3,4 thiadiazole.
