ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The combustion chamber of a spark-ignition internal combustion engine is provided with a considerably large proportion of the exhaust gases of the engine. Two spark plugs are disposed in the combustion chamber so that faster combustion of the air-fuel mixture is carried out in the combustion chamber. The engine is operated on an air-fuel mixture for causing stable engine running even though the combustion chamber is provided with the large proportion of the exhaust gases. - 1 -
