A method and device for detecting an intruder in a region with increased performance and decreased false alarms. The security device has a microwave sensor and a PIR sensor operatively coupled to a processor. To increase the performance of the security device the device determines distance information of an object in the region with the microwave sensor, processes the distance information to adapt a frequency response of the PIR sensor to provide a frequency adapted PIR signal, and determines if the object is an intruder by using the frequency adapted PIR signal.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif de détection d'intrus dans une zone, à performances accrues et fausses alertes diminuées. Le dispositif de sécurité présente un détecteur à micro-ondes et un détecteur PIR couplés fonctionnel à un processeur. Afin d'accroître les performances du dispositif de sécurité, le dispositif détermine des informations de distance d'un objet dans la zone à l'aide du détecteur à micro-ondes, traite les informations de distance afin d'adapter une réponse en fréquence du détecteur PIR de manière à fournir un signal PIR adapté en fréquence et détermine si l'objet est un intrus au moyen du signal PIR adapté en fréquence.
