RK344 ABSTRACT An electrical wire comprises an elongate electri- cal conductor and electrical insulation that comprises: (a) an inner insulating layer which comprises a poly- ester that has both aromatic and aliphatic moieties and has a molar carbon to hydrogen ratio of not more than 1.15 e.g. polybutylene terephtha- late. (b) an outer insulating layer which comprises a fluorinated polymer. The wire exhibits a good balance of electrical and mechanical properties together with high resistance to wet tracking and dry arcing.
