Contemplated compositions and methods include a catechin at a concentration effective to inactivate SARS at least by a factor of 2 log10 units when the formulation is applied to a surface. Preferably, the catechins are provided as a complex mixture, and most preferably as a near-native catechin preparation from green tea.
