ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Cellulosic fiber-containing fabrics are made wrinkle resistant by a durable press process which comprises impregna- ting the fabric with an aqueous solution containing an alkyl sulfonic acid or sulfuric acid, capable of catalyzing the cross- linking reaction between formaldehyde and cellulose, and then exposing the impregnated fabric, while the fabric has a moisture content of over 20% by weight where the cellulose fibers are substantially completely swollen, to formaldehyde vapors and curing.
