Disclosed is a durably wettable, liquid pervious web that is particularly suitable as a topsheet for absorbent articles such as baby and adult diapers and feminine hygiene products. The durably wettable, liquid pervious web is derived from a polymeric film or nonwoven to which is applied a thin organic material onto at least one surface of the starting film or nonwoven. The thin organic coating is in the form of a polymer and is obtained by after-glow (or remote) plasma-induced polymerization of a polymerizable unsaturated compound, preferably a polymerizable vinyl or isopropenyl compound, under specific plasma conditions.
L'invention concerne un voile imperméable aux liquides à mouillabilité durable, particulièrement approprié comme couche supérieure d'articles absorbants tels que des couches pour bébés et adultes et des articles d'hygiène féminine. Le voile imperméable aux liquides à mouillabilité durable est dérivé d'un film polymère ou d'un non-tissé sur lequel on applique une matière organique mince sur au moins une surface du film ou du non-tissé de départ. Le revêtement organique mince se trouve sous forme de polymère et est produit par polymérisation résiduelle (ou à distance), induite par plasma, d'un composé insaturé polymérisable, de préférence un composé vinylique ou isopropénylique polymérisable, dans des conditions spécifiques de plasma.
