ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE The invention concerns a dust removal or collection unit for removing dust from the air, particularly in underground workings such as coal mines. The unit comprises, in a casing having an inlet and an outlet, means for drawing a dust-containing gaseous stream, such as air, through the unit via said inlet and outlet, means for wetting the dust with water and means for filtering out the wetted dust so that substantially dust-and water-free air leaves the outlet of the unit.
