A Dustcap Valance which is easy to assembly an which protects windows and window coverings from dust and which blocks unwanted sunlight comprised of a dustcap frame, having a front wall comprised of a upper front edge, a lower front edge, a front wall back surface, and a top wall perpendicular to said front wall, and comprised of a top wall upper member perpendicular to said front wall and having at least one groove embedded in said top wall upper member, and a top wall lower member which protrudes from and is integrally connected to said front wall back surface such that the dustcap frame has a Y- shaped cross-section; a first side wall, a second side wall; a first cornice, a second cornice; a trim, whereby the trim includes an upper front trim, a lower front trim, a first upper side trim, a first lower side trim, a second upper side trim, a second lower side trim; the first cornice and the second cornice maintain the first side wall and second side wall at right angles with the dustcap frame and secure the first upper side trim and second upper side trim at right angles to the front upper trim and the first lower side trim and the second lower side trim at right angles to the front lower trim; at least one means for receiving trim being an integral part of said dustcap frame, said first side wall and said second side wall, thereby allowing said trim to be mounted on said dustcap frame, said first side wall and said second side wall; and a continuous fabric panel which is secured by said first cornice and said second cornice.
