In accordance with a demand to now for the development of a photoelectric conversion device including an organic-dye- sensitized semiconductor, which photoelectric conversion device realizes high conversion efficiency and high practicability and is produced with an inexpensive dye, there is provided a photoelectric conversion device of high conversion efficiency produced by sensitizing fine semiconductor particles with the use of a methine dye of specified skeleton.

Face à la demande concernant des dispositifs de conversion photoélectrique comprenant un semi-conducteur sensibilisé par un colorant organique lequel dispositif présente une efficacité de conversion élevée, est pratique à utiliser et est réalisé au moyen d'un colorant bon marché la présente invention concerne un dispositif de conversion photoélectrique à fort pouvoir de conversion obtenu par sensibilisation de particules semi-conductrices à l'aide d'un colorant de méthine de structure spécifiée.
