Abstract HOE 88/F 381 Dyeing of textile material with pigment dyes Process for dyeing textile material with pigment dyes, which comprises 1. pretreating the textile material with a polymer which consists wholly or partly of monomeric units of the formula I Image (I) where R1 and R2 are each hydrogen, (C1-C22)alkyl which may be interrupted by -CO-NH- or -NH-CO-, or C1-C4- hydroxyalkyl, R3 and R4 are each hydrogen or methyl, and Y- is a monovalent anion or one equivalent of a polyvalent anion, 2. then dyeing with a pigment dye in the presence of a leveling or dispersing agent by the exhaust method and if necessary 3. treating the dyeing in a liquor with a pigment binder and subsequently fixing it. This process makes it possible to dye textile material, in particular ready-made means garments, with pigment dyes by an exhaust method.
