A drilling system for drilling a bore hole into a subterranean earth formation, the drilling system comprising: a drill string (112) extending into the bore hole, whereby an annular space is formed between the drill sting and the bore hole wall, the drill string including a longitudinal drilling fluid passage having an outlet opening at the lower end part of the drill string; a pump (138) for pumping a drilling fluid from a drilling fluid source through the longitudinal drilling fluid passage into the annular space; a fluid discharge conduit (124) in fluid communication with said annular space for discharging said drilling fluid; a fluid back pressure system (131, 132, 133) in fluid communication with said fluid discharge conduit; said fluid backpressure system comprising a bypass (7) conduit and a three way valve (6) provided between the pump and the longitudinal drilling fluid passage, whereby the pump is in fluid communication with the fluid discharge conduit (124) via the three way valve and the bypass conduit which bypasses at least part of the longitudinal fluid passage.
Cette invention a trait à un dispositif permettant de forer un trou de forage dans une formation terrestre souterraine. Ce dispositif comporte un train de tiges (112) se déployant dans le trou de forage, ce qui délimite un espace annulaire entre le train de tiges et la paroi du trou de forage. Dans le train de tiges est ménagé un passage pour liquide de forage avec une ouverture de sortie dans la partie inférieure dudit train. Le dispositif de forage comporte également une pompe (138) servant à pomper le liquide de forage à partir d'une source celui-ci à travers le passage longitudinal dans l'espace annulaire, un conduit d'évacuation (124) du liquide en communication fluidique avec cet espace annulaire et un système de contre-pression (131, 132, 133) du liquide en communication fluidique avec le conduit d'évacuation, lequel système possède un conduit de dérivation (7) et une soupape à trois voies (6) placée entre la pompe et le passage longitudinal de liquide de forage, la pompe étant en communication fluidique avec le conduit d'évacuation (124) grâce à la soupape et le conduit de dérivation qui détourne au moins une partie du passage longitudinal de liquide.
