A technique for providing high speed data service over standard wireless connections via an unique integration of protocols and existing cellular signaling is disclosed. Channel resources are allocated according to a buffer monitoring scheme between a base station (104) and multiple subscriber units (101-1,...,101-n). Each buffer (440-1,...,440-N) is monitored over time for threshold levels of data and a probability is calculated that takes into account the arrival of data into the buffer (440-1,...,440-N).

L'invention concerne une technique permettant de fournir un service de données à grande vitesse dans des connexions sans fil standard par l'intermédiaire d'une unique intégrations de protocoles et d'une signalisation cellulaire existante. Les ressources de canal sont attribuées en fonction d'un plan de surveillance des séparateurs entre une station de base (104) et de multiples unités d'abonné (101-1,...,101-n). Chaque séparateur (440-1,...,440-N) est surveillé dans le temps pour des niveaux seuil de données et une probabilité est calculée, probabilité qui prend en compte l'arrivée de données dans le séparateur (440-1,...,440-N).
