Bandwidth within a communication channel of a computer network is dynamically allocated according to bandwidth requests of devices within the computer network. Such requests may include releases of excess bandwidth in addition to requests for additional bandwidth. In some cases, the communication channel may be a wireless, spread spectrum communication channel. In general, the bandwidth may be dynamically allocated according to priorities of the requests. For example, the requests may be arranged such that those associated with isochronous transmissions within the computer network are accorded the highest priority. A table of such bandwidth allocations may be maintained (e.g., by a network master device) so as to account for bandwidth utilization within the network. Such a table may include bandwidth allocations for the various information streams according to their varying priorities. The table may then by dynamically updated according to the bandwidth requests and any bandwidth allocations made in accordance therewith.
Dans un canal de communication d'un réseau d'ordinateurs, on attribue dynamiquement la largeur de bande en fonction des demandes formulées par les dispositifs du réseau. Ces demandes peuvent aussi bien porter sur la libération de la largeur de bande en excès que sur une largeur de bande additionnelle. Dans certains cas, le canal de communication peut être du type sans fil à étalement de spectre. En général l'attribution de largeur de bande se fait dynamiquement en fonction de la priorité des demandes. Les demandes peuvent par exemple être traitée pour que celles qui sont associées à des transmissions isochrones sur le réseau aient la priorité la plus élevée. On peut tenir un tableau de ces attribution de largeur de bande (par exemple à l'aide d'un dispositif-maître de réseau) pour tenir compte de l'utilisation des largeur de bande dans le réseau. Un tel tableau peut contenir les attributions de largeur de bande aux différents flux d'informations en fonction de leurs différentes priorités. Le tableau peut en outre être actualisé dynamiquement selon les demandes de largeur de bande et les attributions de largeur de bande correspondantes.
