Responding to a telephone call made by a calling party (110) includes receiving a first telephone call and identifying an account associated with the telephone number to which the first calling party (110) directed the first telephone call. Configuration data related to the account is accessed. A first identity associated with the account is identified based on the configuration data accessed. A first electronic communication is sent to a computer (170A) of a first called party (120, 170) associated with the first identity. The first called party (120, 170) may respond to the first electronic communication by dynamically and manually inputting a call redirection telephone number, sending an e-mail, or sending an instant message. If the call redirection telephone number is inputted, the first telephone call may be redirected to the call redirection telephone number.

L'invention concerne un procédé de réponse à un appel téléphonique établi par un appelant, qui comporte les étapes consistant à : recevoir un premier appel téléphonique et identifier un compte associé au numéro de téléphone auquel est destiné le premier appel téléphonique ; accéder à des données de configuration liées au compte ; identifier une première identité associée au compte sur la base des données de configuration consultées ; envoyer une première communication électronique à l'ordinateur du premier appelant associé à la première identité ; et faire en sorte que le premier appelé réponde à la première communication électronique en composant dynamiquement et manuellement un numéro de téléphone de réacheminement d'appel, en envoyant un courriel ou un message instantané.
