Co-Existence Dynamic Channel Assignment (DCA) techniques for overlay macrocellular systems facilitate the coexistence of embedded autonomous underlay microcellular (e.g., indoor) systems. The Co-existence of the two systems without excessive mutual interference is achieved through statistical systematicexclusion of predefined subsets of the universal channel set from the dynamic assignment to the overlay macrocells. The sets of channels are made available to the underlay systems. The exclusion is done with minimal DCA performance degradation. Multiple exclusions methods are described.

Techniques d'affectation dynamique de canaux (DCA) en coexistence pour systèmes macrocellulaires sans fil, facilitant la coexistence de systèmes microcellulaires sans fil autonomes intégrés (p. ex. d'intérieur). La coexistence des deux systèmes sans brouillage mutuel excessif est obtenue par exclusion systématique statistique de sous-ensembles prédéfinis de l'ensemble de canaux de référence, par rapport à l'affectation dynamique aux macrocellules. Les ensembles de canaux sont mis à la disposition des systèmes microcellulaires sans fil. L'exclusion est effectuée avec une dégradation minimale de la performance DCA.
