A dynamic control valve system (10) adapted for inflatable restraint systems for vehicles. The system includes a control valve (12) having an inlet (18) in fluid communication with an inlet (22) in an airbag (24). The control valve includes a valve member (32) actuatable between a flow preventing position and a flow permissive position. High pressure fluid is supplied through the control valve (20) and on to the airbag (24). The control valve (12) includes a valve spool (32) which cooperates with a valve casing (30) to define a plurality of flow paths. Consequently, the actuation of the valve member (32) is substantially independent of the forces produced by the high pressure fluid flow. The valve member's actuation may be based on a vehicle parameter such as vehicle deceleration or acceleration, or an occupant parameter such as presence, weight, or occupant position.
L'invention concerne un système (10) de soupape à commande dynamique adapté à des systèmes gonflables de retenue pour véhicules. Le système comporte une soupape (12) de commande présentant un orifice (18) d'entrée permettant une communication de fluide avec un orifice (22) d'entrée de coussin (24) gonflable de sécurité. La soupape de commande comporte un élément (32) de soupape pouvant être actionné entre une position empêchant un écoulement et une position permettant un écoulement. Un fluide sous haute pression est introduit par la soupape (20) de commande en direction du coussin (24) gonflable de sécurité. La soupape (12) de commande comporte un tiroir (32) de soupape qui coopère avec un logement (30) de soupape de façon à définir plusieurs trajets d'écoulement. Par conséquent, l'actionnement de l'élément (32) de soupape est sensiblement indépendant des forces produites par l'écoulement du fluide sous haute pression. L'actionnement de l'élément de soupape peut dépendre d'un paramètre de véhicule tel qu'une décélération ou une accélération du véhicule, ou d'un paramètre d'occupant tel que la présence, le poids, ou la position de l'occupant.
