A distributed speech recognition system (Fig. 1) provides for the convenient and expedited insertion of a new speech recognition engine. The system includes a speech processor linked to at least one speech recognition engine. The at least one speech recognition engine includes means for addressing the central speech processor upon installation within the system. The means for addressing transmits to the central speech processor a message indicating its operating protocol and location to permit the central speech processor to identify and begin transmitting work thereto.

L'invention concerne un système de reconnaissance de la parole réparti (voir figure 1) permettant une insertion accélérée et pratique d'un nouveau moteur de reconnaissance de la parole. Ce système comprend un processeur de parole relié à au moins un moteur de reconnaissance de la parole. Le ou les moteurs de reconnaissance de la parole comprennent un moyen permettant l'adressage d'un processeur de parole central après installation dans le système. Le moyen d'adressage transmet au processeur de parole central un message indiquant son protocole de fonctionnement et son emplacement, afin que le processeur de parole central puisse identifier et démarrer la tâche de transmission.
