A novel molecular model assembly is provided herein for representing the structure of a molecule. That assembly includes a physical representation of an atomic core, a cylindrical hole extending inwardly along a central longitudinal axis of such physical representation of an atomic core from each end of such physical representation of an atomic core, a plurality of con- necting guiding elements, e.g. arcuate lobes projecting from such physical representation of an atomic core or arcuate slots inset into such physical representation of an atomic core, each being disposed equiangularly about the periphery of such physical representation of an atomic core, an arm projecting outwardly from a face of each such connecting guiding element, such arm being arcuately movable relative to its associated connecting guiding element, a cylindrical hole extending inwardly along the central longitudinal axis of each of such arms from the distal end thereof, and a plurality of cylindrical members adapted to be inserted into selected ones of such cylindrical holes. This molecular model assembly provides a molecular model which can be used to demonstrate various torsional and configurational changes which commonly occur during chemical transformations. Thus, one can realistically simulate actual chemical processes using a "hands-on" model.
