An amplifier arrangement for amplifying an input (20) uses a distorting main power amplifier (14) such as one operating as a class AB amplifier. A predistortion signal is added to the input signal to compensate for the distortion added by the main power amplifier (14). The predistortion signal can be dynamically modified to improve substantially, at least the third order intermodulation components in the output (18) of the power amplifier. A digitally controlled processor (90) iteratively modifies various phase and gain controls to adjust the output of the amplifier. Different gain and phase control lines are iteratively updated at different rates.
L'invention concerne un dispositif d'amplification permettant d'amplifier une entrée (20) au moyen d'un amplificateur (14) de puissance principal à distorsion, tel qu'un amplificateur fonctionnant en classe AB. Un signal de prédistorsion est ajouté au signal d'entrée, de manière que soit corrigée la distorsion ajoutée par l'amplificateur (14) de puissance principal. Le signal de prédistorsion peut être modifié de façon dynamique, de manière qu'au moins les composants d'intermodulation du troisième ordre de la sortie (18) de l'amplificateur de puissance soient sensiblement améliorés. Un processeur (90) à commande numérique modifie de façon itérative différentes commandes de phase et de gain, de façon à régler la sortie (18) de l'amplificateur. Différentes lignes de commande de gain et de phase peuvent également être mises à jour de façon itérative à différentes vitesses.
