A dynamic tactile code in which embossed alphabetic symbols represent the letters of the conventional Roman alphabet and embossed numeric symbols represent the conventional Arabic numerals. The alphabetic symbols are divided into four regions, the alphabetic symbols in the first and third regions denoted by a circular frame, and the alphabetic symbols in the second and fourth regions being surrounded by a square frame. Uppercase symbols (Fig. 2) differentiate from the lowercase symbols (Fig. 1) by the placement of a dot centrally located above the lowercase symbol frame. The numeric symbols are denoted by a diamond-shaped frame (Fig. 3). Certain essential attributes of the font remain constant while other attributes change as the font's size is changed.
Un code tactile dynamique dans lequel des symboles alphabétiques embossés représentent les lettres de l'alphabet latin conventionnel et des symboles numériques embossés représentent les chiffres "arabes" conventionnels. Les symboles alphabétiques sont répartis en quatre régions, ceux de la 1?ère¿ et de la 3?ème¿ région étant repérés par un entourage rond, et ceux de la 2?ème¿ et de la 4?ème¿ étant repérés par un entourage carré. Les symboles majuscules (Fig. 2) se distinguent des symboles minuscules (Fig. 1) par la présence d'un point central au-dessus de l'entourage du symbole minuscule. Les symboles numériques se distinguent par un entourage en losange (Fig. 3). Certains attributs essentiels de la police restent constant alors que d'autres attributs changent lorsqu'on modifie le corps utilisé pour la police de caractères.
