The invention provides techniques for dynamic timout including the steps of receiving a request from a requestor (Fig. 3 element350); and if the interim message should be sent to the requestor, sending to the requestor the interim message (Fig. 3 element 350) referring to the request. Techniques are also provided for dynamic timeout (Fig. 3 element 360) including steps of sending a request to a server; receiving an interim message from the server, where the interim message (Fig. 3 element 350) contains one or more related items; and determining whether to change a timeout value based on the one or more response related items in the interim message (Fig. 3 element 370).

L'invention concerne des techniques de temporisation dynamique, consistant à recevoir une requête d'un demandeur ; à déterminer si un message intermédiaire doit être envoyé au demandeur ; et, dans la positive, à envoyer au demandeur le message intermédiaire concernant la requête. L'invention concerne également des techniques de temporisation dynamique, consistant à envoyer une requête à un serveur ; à recevoir un message intermédiaire envoyé par le serveur, le message intermédiaire contenant un ou plusieurs articles concernant la réponse ; et à déterminer s'il faut modifier une valeur de temporisation sur la base du ou des articles concernant la réponse, contenus dans le message intermédiaire.
