ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pair of spring arms in the form of flat resilient strips have upper ends formed for connection to the opposite sides of a safety cap. The upper portions of these arms are substantially parallel, but their lower portions normally slope downwardly toward each other from the lower ends of the upper portions, the downwardly sloping portion of each arm tapering in thickness and width toward its lower end and being provided with a central longitudinal slot slidably and rotatably receiv- ing a headed retaining pin projecting from the back of an ear cover.
