Ear protecting device with a sealing section for acoustically sealing the meatus of a human, includes a sound generator with a sound outlet for being directed toward the user meatus; an inner microphone with a sound inlet from the meatus, arranged for measuring the resulting sound field in the meatus; connected to an electronics unit including a sound analyser coupled to the inner microphone, for analyzing sound characteristics of the resulting sound field in the meatus, producing analyzed sound characteristics; storing part in the electronics unit for storing measured predetermined sound characteristics of a properly functioning ear protecting device; a comparing part in the electronics unit for comparing the inner microphone analyzed sound characteristics with the stored measured predetermined sound characteristics; indicating part coupled to the comparing part for being activated if the analyzed sound characteristics differ significantly from the predetermined sound characteristics.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de protection d'oreille comprenant une section d'étanchéité (2) conçue pour assurer l'étanchéité acoustique du méat (3) d'un être humain, laquelle section comprend un générateur de sons (SG) pourvu d'un orifice de sortie (S¿SG?) des sons, conçue pour être dirigé vers le méat (3) de l'utilisateur; un microphone interne (M2) pourvu d'un orifice d'entrée (S2) des sons provenant du méat (3), conçu pour mesurer le champ acoustique obtenu dans le méat (3); le microphone interne est relié à une unité électronique (11, E3) comprenant un analyseur de sons qui est couplé audit microphone interne (M2); cette unité permet d'analyser les caractéristiques acoustiques du champ acoustique obtenu dans le méat (3), afin de produire des caractéristiques acoustiques analysées; un moyen de stockage placé dans l'unité électronique (11, E8, E9, E10) conçu pour stocker les caractéristiques acoustiques prédéterminées mesurées d'un dispositif de protection d'oreille fonctionnant convenablement; un moyen de comparaison placé dans l'unité électronique (11, E3) conçu pour comparer les caractéristiques acoustiques analysées aux caractéristiques acoustiques prédéterminées mesurées stockées; un moyen d'indication relié au moyen de comparaison (11, E3) conçu pour être déclenché si lesdites caractéristiques acoustiques analysées sont significativement différentes des caractéristiques acoustiques prédéterminées.
