An external chimney mounted Collector Collar and Bi-metallic contact sensing device to be used as an early warning and detection of the presence of flame as it escapes from a faulty (cracked) chimney within a building (FIG.1 ceiling in basement above heating unit or in attic ceiling) and/or the early warning and detection of hot molten liquid (lava) as it erupts and spews out of the top of a chimney during a severe creosote chimney fire. This device is NOT for the detection of a fire within a chimney but rather to detect any fire that may get out of a chimney.
