ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A roller cutter assembly for rotary boring of the face of earth formations comprising a boring head and a plurality of roller cutters mounted in mounting means. The bearing shafts of the roller cutters are secured to the mounting means by means of clamping means. For purposes of eliminating the risk for failure of the clamping means to occur the mounting means are provided with a cap portion.
