- 10 - ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Electrical pulses are generated using a low voltage power supply and a photo flash transformer and are applied through probes to the soil to cause earthworms to emerge from the surface. The pulses are initially of constant polarity and the negative polarity probe is shorter than the positive polarity probe. However when the earthworms begin to emerge from the surface, then the polarity is periodically reversed, e.g. after every one to six pulses, causing the earthworms to emerge more fully and more quickly.
