ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A trunk-style carton for ice cream and the like which displays greater ease in opening and superior protective properties for the product, after removal of a portion of the carton contents and reclosure of the carton, by virtue of a liner sheet beneath the carton cover which covers the upper surface of the carton contents completely and is adhered at one end to the upper portion of the inner surface of the carton back wall and at the other end to a zipper strip or a bonding portion of the inner surface of the carton front cover panel.
