The invention provides an improved solid waste sorting system to assist recycling programs. The basket is constructed from PVC coated wire so as to be transparent and is clipped together in such a way as to allow the invention to be folded flat for easy transport and/or storage. The lid is made from high density polyethylene with slots cut out to encourage proper solid waste sorting.
