ABSTRACT An improvement to the front face of an eaves trough is disclosed, to thereby eliminate smudging, streaking, and the like on the front face of the installed eaves trough. The improvement retards formation of condensation on the front face, and prevents an overflow of run-off water from flowing down the front face of the eaves trough. The improvement is achieved by means of an overhang at the uppermost front edge of the eaves trough, the overhang having an upper surface over which excess water from the eaves trough can flow and a lower surface adjacent the front face of the eaves trough, which is oriented so that water flowing over the upper surface does not flow across it.
