An echelon diffraction grating comprising a substrate and, formed on the surface thereof, an organopolysiloxane film having a maximum thickness of 1 µm to 1 mm, the organopolysiloxane film having, formed thereon, a plurality of steps of a specific width within the range of 1 µm to 500 µm and of a specific height within the range of 5 µm to 500 µm, wherein the above organopolysiloxane film comprises dimethyl siloxane and phenyl (or substituted phenyl) siloxane as main components. The Echelon diffraction grating can be produced at a low cost and is excellent in thermal resistance. An optical wave guide which has high thermal resistance, is reduced in the absorption at a communication wavelength in the near-infrared region, and thus exhibits satisfactory reliability and satisfactorily low loss in the optical communication band is also provided.

La présente invention concerne un échelon de Michelson comprenant un substrat, et sur sa surface, un film d'organopolysiloxane d'une épaisseur maximale de 1 µm à 1 mm. Sur le film d'organopolysiloxane se trouve une pluralité de gradins d'une largeur spécifique de 1 µm à 500 µm pour une hauteur spécifique de 5 µm à 500 µm. Les principaux composants de ce film d'organopolysiloxane sont le diméthyle-siloxane et le phényle-siloxane, éventuellement avec une substitution du phényle. Cet échelon de Michelson, qui peut être produit à bas prix, présente une très bonne résistance thermique. L'invention concerne également un guide d'ondes optique à résistance thermique élevée, à faible absorption dans les longueurs d'ondes de communication du proche infrarouge, ce qui fait qu'il présente une fiabilité satisfaisante et un faible niveau de perte dans la bande de communications optiques.
