Kalman filtering is applied to obtain a fast converging, low complexity echo (y(t)) canceller (18). An averaged diagonal Riccati equation allows optimal time varying adaptation gains K(t) to be precomputed, or computed online with a small number of scalar Riccati equations.

On utilise un filtre de Kalman pour obtenir un dispositif (18) pour supprimer les échos résiduels (y(t)), qui est peu compliqué et qui permet une convergence rapide. Une équation pondérée diagonale de Riccati permet de calculer par avance les gains d'adaptation K(t) optimaux (qui sont variables dans le temps). Le calcul peut aussi être fait en direct, mais avec un petit nombre d'équations scalaires de Riccati.
