A birdfeeder employing an upper ring to stabilize and protect a lower tray from rain and snow; a lower tray which receives from a 2 liter soft drink bottle grains, which is food for the species. The upper 8 inch ring having an about 4 inch round hole at its center, through which slides neck-first the bottle to a ridge near the bottle base. The ring has holes for the passage of a cord through it. The tray is about 5 inch round and has within it three projections on its concave side fitted to receive the neck (spout) of the bottle snugly and to support the bottle about 1/2 inch above the tray. The assembly, including an inverted soft drink bottle containing seed, is suspended by means of the cord which passes through the holes in both tray and ring.
