ABSTRACT Some potentially disturbing and harmful insects, to wit, hornets (yellow jackets) may attack humans and pets and cause pain which may result in potenitally negative health affecting results. Such insects may be attracted to an appropriate container as submitted, containing bait such as meat and may by means of the process utilized be terminated without the use of chemicals within said container or trap. The Ecologically sound Hornet (Yellow Jacket) Trap consists of a bait container, a funnel leading to a triangular shaped trap chamber where the hornet expires after a period of time. The design of the trap is such that the hornet upon entering the trap is not able to retrace its entry by flying down the tip of the funnel by which it entered the trap chamber. The latter is designed so that it is easily cleaned. The bait chamber is easily replenished, cleaned and reattached. Since the bait, meat (pet food) does not attract helpful insects such as bees, the trap is target specific (hornet) and environmentally sensitive.
