ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A decorative and protective edge guard comprises a non-metallic body having a curved base and legs extending from the base for fitting against sides of an object onto which the edge guard is installed. Various embodiments are disclosed. In one embodiment, the body contains notch structure formed in its surface and a layer of material having a size corresponding to that of the notch. In another embodiment, the layer covers only one half of the body, leaving the other half uncovered. In other embodiments the base is of reduced thickness compared to the legs. Various forms of layers may be applied to the bodies.
