An edge protecting device for snowboards and the like. The device includes an elastic elongate member that is capable of being positioned an the snowboard such that the elongate member covers the edge portions so that first and second reinforcing members align with the toe and heel edge portions, respectively and a strap removably attaches to the elongate member such that the elongate member is held snugly against the side edge portions of the snowboard.
