A splicer/transcoder (21) interfaces to an archiver/server of a material with a stream, and to an editor and a switcher (22) with a baseband. During a predetermined period including at least an editing point, the splicer/transcoder (21) performs transcoding. Two programs used for editing are multiplexed in an input stream, and baseband signals (Sa, Sb) generated by decoding the programs are fed to the editor and the switcher (22), enabling edit like one by a conventional editor. A baseband signal (Sc) of the edit result is returned to the splicer/transcoder (21) and the signal (Sc) is re- encoded into an output stream by using codec information obtained by the decoding.

Cette invention concerne un appareil de raccordement/transcodeur (21) qui assure l'interface vers un appareil d'archivage/serveur de matériaux par l'intermédiaire d'un train binaire, ainsi que vers un éditeur et un commutateur (22) par l'intermédiaire d'une bande de base. L'appareil de raccordement/transcodeur (21) va effectuer un transcodage pendant une période prédéterminée comprenant au moins un point d'édition. Deux programmes servant à l'édition sont multiplexés dans le train d'entrée, tandis que les signaux de bande de base (Sa, Sb) produits par le décodage de ces programmes sont envoyés vers l'éditeur et le commutateur (22), ce qui permet d'obtenir une édition similaire à celle produite à l'aide d'un éditeur classique. Un signal de bande de base (Sc) du résultat d'édition est renvoyé vers l'appareil de raccordement/transcodeur (21), ledit signal (Sc) étant ensuite recodé dans un train de sortie à l'aide des informations codec obtenues lors du décodage.
