A method (Fig. 2) of enabling anonymous shipment of a package containing goods purchased by a customer from a vendor (S21) for delivery to an address unknown to the vendor includes steps of receiving a request for a package code for the package from the vendor, sending the package code to the vendor (S24), the package code being devoid of delivery address information and sending a shipping identifier and an associated address to the shipper (S25). The shipper, after picking up the package for shipment from the vendor, matches the package code sent to the vendor with the shipping identifier and identifies the associated address as the delivery address of the package. A shipping label may then be printed out and affixed to the package (S26).

Cette invention a trait à une technique (Fig. 2) permettant de procéder à l'expédition d'un paquet contenant des articles achetés par un client (S21), paquet devant être livré à une adresse inconnue du vendeur. Cette technique consiste à recevoir une demande relative à un code d'emballage émanant du vendeur, à adresser ce code au vendeur (S24), ce code ne portant pas d'information d'adresse de destination, et à envoyer un identificateur d'expédition ainsi qu'une adresse associée à l'expéditeur (S25). Celui-ci, après avoir récupéré le paquet chez le vendeur aux fins d'expédition, compare le code d'emballage envoyé au vendeur à l'identificateur d'expédition et identifie l'adresse associée comme étant l'adresse de destination du paquet. Une étiquette d'expédition peut alors être imprimée et apposée sur le paquet (S26).
