Methods to appraise general health and to assess the effectiveness of therapeutic agents are disclosed. These meth-ods can be performed on blood samples or other bodily fluids and comprise effecting cell death of endothelial cells, staining the dead cells and observing them microscopically. In addition, the invention is directed to combination treatments for neoplastic dis-eases or other conditions characterized by unwanted angiogenesis by administering an antiangiogenesis agent while maintaining nontoxic levels of ethanol and/or DMSO in the blood.
Linvention concerne des procédés pour évaluer la santé générale et pour estimer lefficacité dagents thérapeutiques. Ces procédés peuvent être effectués sur des échantillons de sang ou dautres fluides organiques et consistent à effectuer la mort cellulaire de cellules endothéliales, à colorer les cellules mortes et à les observer au microscope. De plus, linvention concerne des traitements combinés pour des maladies néoplasiques ou dautres affections caractérisées par une angiogenèse indésirable par ladministration dun agent anti-angiogenèse tout en maintenant des taux non toxiques déthanol et/ou de DMSO dans le sang.
