ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A molten metal sensor for detecting metal flow behavior in a casting metal mold is arranged within an axially extending bore formed in an ejector pin. It is unnecessary to additionally form bores for accommodating metal sensors in the metal mole. Number of traces remaining on the surface of a cast article is reduced. A tapered outer surface of the insulating member for insulating the electrode from the metal ejector pin is fitted to a tapered inner surface of the metal case for supporting the sensor within the ejector pin, thereby to prevent a fragment of insulating member from dropping into the mold cavity, thus improving the sensor reliability.
