An EL device (1) comprises a thick insulating layer (16) formed on a substrate (2) which is provided with a lower electrode (4), an upper electrode (12), EL function layers (6, 10) which are formed between the thick insulating layer (16) and the upper electrode (12) and composed of Ga2O3:Eu, and a light- emitting layer (8) which is formed between the EL function layers (6, 10) and composed of MgGa2O4. The EL function layers (6, 10) perform both functions as an insulating layer and an electron injection layer. Consequently, the EL device (1) has a simplified structure, and can be driven at low voltage while achieving a high luminance.
L'invention concerne un dispositif EL (1) comprenant une couche isolante épaisse (16) formée sur un substrat (2) qui est doté d'une électrode inférieure (4), et d'une électrode supérieure (12), des couches à fonction EL (16) qui sont formées entre la couche isolante épaisse (16) et l'électrode supérieure (12) et sont composées de Ga¿2?O¿3? : Eu, et une couche électroluminescente (8) qui est formée entre les couches à fonction EL (6, 10) et est composée de MgGa¿2?O¿4?. Les couches à fonction EL (6, 10) servent à la fois de couche isolante et de couche à injection d'électrons. Par conséquent, le dispositif EL (1) possède une structure simplifiée, et peut être actionné à faible tension tout en obtenant une luminance élevée.
