ABSTRACT The invention relates to a laminated elastic fabric comprising: a layer of stretch material having substantial elastic qualities; a polymer film layer having a thickness less than 1.0 mil, said film layer being breathable and water-resistant and having elastic qualities comparable to said stretch material; and an adhesive bonding said film layer to said layer of stretch material, said adhesive being present in substantially discontin- ous segments and a method for producing the fabric. Such fabrics are water-proof or water-resistant but have the ability to pass moisture vapour therethrough.
