The invention concerns a gasket for high sealing performance with a force, through the use of a sheet of ductile material serving as outer sheath. It comprises mainly a relatively resilient metal core (1), enclosed in an outer sheath (2) made of ductile material, for example an aluminium layer. Said two elements are mechanically linked through only two contact points, thereby enabling possible movements and force distribution when the gasket is compressed and operative.

Le joint permet de maintenir une étanchéité élevée, malgré des efforts faibles, grâce à l'utilisation d'une feuille de matériau ductile en guise d'enveloppe externe. Il comprend principalement une âme métallique (1) relativement élastique, entourée d'une enveloppe externe (2) réalisée en matériau ductile, par exemple une couche d'aluminium. Ces deux éléments n'ont comme liaison mécanique entre eux, que deux points de contact, ce qui permet des éventuels mouvements et répartition d'efforts lors de l'écrasement du joint et de son fonctionnement.
