Abstract An elastic mounting for the rod-shaped insert tooth of a circular saw on a blade body. The problem addressed is to eliminate loosening and disengagement of teeth caused by an impact-like loading on the teeth, which often occurs after a relatively short service life. A blade body or a tooth is provided with an elastic strip whose spring force, together with the flattening force exerted by a locking rivet, urges the tooth against those points in its fitting notch which also receive the bearing forces exerted by a shearing force of the sawing action.
