A method of manufacturing an elastic sleeve for a shoe press having an inner diameter gradually reduced from both ends toward a center in an axial direction, comprising the steps of stretching the sleeve formed of an unhardened or imperfectly hardened elastic material between two rolls, moving the two rolls in directions apart from each other while deflecting the two rolls in such directions that the center parts thereof are moved close to each other by utilizing the tension of the sleeve, and perfectly hardening, in this state, the elastic material while rotating the sleeve to gradually reduce the inner diameter of the elastic sleeve from both ends toward the center in the axial direction.
L'invention concerne un manchon élastique pour une presse à sabot possédant un diamètre intérieur réduit graduellement des deux extrémités jusqu'au centre, dans le sens axial. Ledit procédé consiste à étirer entre deux rouleaux le manchon constitué d'une matière élastique imparfaitement durcie ou non durcie, à déplacer les deux rouleaux en les éloignant l'un de l'autre tout en les défléchissant dans certaines directions, de sorte que leur partie centrale se rapprochent sous l'effet de la tension du manchon, et à durcir parfaitement, dans cet état, la matière élastique pendant la rotation du manchon en vue de la réduction graduelle du diamètre intérieur de ce dernier des deux extrémités au centre dans le sens axial.
