Abstract of the Disclosure An elastic strapping band is essentially made of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer containing vinyl acetate in the range of 3 to 20wt%. The band has molecular orientation in the lengthwise direction thereof with a double refraction rate (.DELTA.n) being in the range of 24 x 10-3 to 38 x 10-3. The band has a tensile strength higher than 3.3kg/mm2 a stress residual rate higher than 15% after elon- ting the band under an initial load of 3.3kg/mm2, and an elasticity recovering rate higher than 70%.
