Abstract of the Disclosure The invention relates to accelerometers comprising a vibrating elastic body associated with electrical means for maintaining its oscillations and for measuring its frequency. More particularly, the invention relates to an accelerometer in which the vibrations are in the form of elastic surface waves propagated along one face of a wafer of piezoelectric material cemented to a substrate. Measure- ment of the acceleration is based on the measurement of a frequency deviation or phase shirt undergone by the elastic surface waves.
