The present seal system (8) is in two parts, that of an elastomer energizer (12), which may be in the shape of a square ring, o-ring, or an other custom design for energizing the seal system (8), and that of a seal element (18) having a particular geometry and composition. The geometric layout of the seal element ensures firm contact between the seal and groove bottom, independently of the seal pressure and radial position of the moving part, and concentrates contact forces against the moving part by means of a seal apex (24). The influence of the energizer (12) is balanced out by positioning the seal apex (24) near the axial position of the center of the energizer (14). The seal apex (24) itself is defined by an inlet angle (b) upstream of the apex of preferably more than 30° to the moving part, and a downstream slip angle (a) of greater than 5° preferably greater than 7°.

L'invention concerne un système de joint (8) en deux parties, celle d'un élastomère à restitution d'énergie (12), qui peut être de la forme d'un anneau de section carrée ou ronde, ou d'une autre forme en vue de restituer l'énergie du système de joint (8), et celle d'un élément de joint (18) présentant une géométrie et une composition particulières. La présentation géométrique de l'élément de joint (18) assure un contact ferme entre le joint et le fond de la rainure, indépendamment de la pression d'étanchéité et de la position radiale de la partie mobile, et concentre les forces de contact contre la partie mobile au moyen d'une pointe de joint (24). L'influence de l'anneau de compression ou de l'élastomère à restitution d'énergie (12) est équilibrée par positionnement du centre (14) dudit élastomère. La pointe de joint (24) elle-même est définie par un angle d'entrée (b) en amont de la pointe, de préférence, supérieur à 30 DEG par rapport à la partie mobile, et un angle de glissement (a) en aval supérieur à 5 DEG et, de préférence, supérieur à 7 DEG .
