A functionalised elastomer (EF) consisting of an elastomeric substrate with a weight-average molecular weight (a) of 10000-600000 daltons and a polydispersity index lower than 5, and having grafted thereon 0.1-10 wt.%, based on the weight of the substrate, of sequences (b) wherein R1 is a C1-12 (x+z+1)-valent hydrocarbon radical, X is H or a C1-12 monovalent hydrocarbon radical R, z is 0 or 1 and x is an integer from 1 to 3, where x+z </= 3, and the weight-average molecular weight (Mw) of said EF is such that the ratio (c) is less than 20 %. Bitumen/EF compositions useful for making surfacings may be produced by incorporating said EF into a bituminous component.
L'élastomère fonctionnalisé (EF) est formé d'un substrat élastomère, ayant une masse moléculaire moyenne en poids (a) entre 10000 et 600000 daltons et un indice de polydispersité inférieur à 5, sur lequel sont greffées, en quantité allant de 0,1 % à 10 % en poids du substrat, des séquences (b) où R1 est un radical hydrocarboné (x+z+1)-valent en C1 à C12, X représente H ou un radical hydrocarboné monovalent R en C1 à C12, z est égal à zéro ou 1 et x est un nombre entier allant de 1 à 3, avec x+z <= 3, la masse moléculaire moyenne en poids (Mw) dudit EF étant telle que le rapport (c) soit inférieur à 20 %. On produit des compositions bitume/EF utilisables pour la réalisation de revêtements en incorporant ledit EF à une composante bitumineuse.
