A lined pipe has a continuous impervious coating of an elastomer extending along the inner periphery of said pipe and along the radial end surfaces thereof, and a portion thereof extending over the outer surface of the pipe which progressively decreases in thickness to zero thickness at a position underlying a sealing lip of an elastomeric gasket to be associated with the lined metal pipe.
